A Sitter From Your Own Neighborhood Team
House sitters are dedicated members of your local team, the same people who walk dogs in your neighborhood every week. If your sitter hasnโt met your pup yet, theyโll get to know them and your house routines before your trip.

House Sitting Questions
What is house sitting?
A sitter from your local Out-U-Go! team stays overnight in your home while you travel. They take care of your pupโs walks, meals and fresh water, and keep them company through the night.
Who can schedule house sitting?
House sitting is a perk for our dog walking pet parents. In Chicago, Oak Park, North Shore, Denver and Boulder, itโs available when you sign up for a dog walking plan. In Madison, itโs just for current dog walking pet parents. In Downers Grove, Naperville and South Loop, itโs mostly for current pet parents, so check with your local team.
How much does house sitting cost?
House sitting starts at $149 to $169 a night, depending on your neighborhood. Additional pets are extra, and that fee varies by area. Check availability to see the rates for your address.
Will my house sitter already know my dog?
Our goal is always to have someone you and your pup already know stay overnight while youโre away. Weโll start by asking your regular walkers and sitters if theyโre available. If they arenโt, we have dedicated overnight sitters on the team. Either way, your house sitter will visit you at home first to meet you and your furry family in person, so everyone feels comfortable before we finalize care.
How far ahead should I schedule?
If youโre new to Out-U-Go!, reach out about 4 weeks before your trip so we can get your walks started first. If you already walk with us, send your dates as early as you can.
Whatโs the difference between house sitting and dog sitting?
With house sitting, a sitter stays overnight in your home. With dog sitting, a sitter stops by 3 to 4 times a day for walks, meals and fresh water. More about dog sitting.
