Wait, aren’t you a franchise?
Sort of, but probably not the way you’re picturing. A few of our neighborhoods are owned by local Top Dogs: David’s cousin Dan in Denver and Boulder, Lindsay in the South Loop and Naperville, Amanda in Downers Grove and Rachel in Madison. They’re people David has known and worked with for years, most of them for more than a decade. They live where they work, lead their own local teams and care for their own neighbors’ pets. Oak Park, Chicago and the North Shore David still runs himself, with a team that’s been caring for pups here for decades.
What we all share is how we do things: the same training, the same standards and the same belief that your pup should be treated like family. There’s no faraway corporate office calling the shots. Just a handful of local business owners who help each other get it right. Read our story
Your Neighbors Since 1996
Out-U-Go! began in Oak Park in 1996. I was in my early 20s when I took the leash, and for the first few years I walked most of the dogs myself. Those walks taught me what pet parents want most: someone who knows their dog like family, and someone they can always count on to show up.
Thirty years later we’re a little bigger, but we’ve stayed local. Every neighborhood is led by people who live nearby, many of our team members have been with us for more than a decade, and Carrie has been walking Oak Park pups for over 25 years. All of that experience comes along on every visit.

How do I get started?
Fill out the quick Check Availability form. Your neighborhood team will reach out to set up a virtual meet & greet, where we’ll learn about your pup, their routine and how we’ll get into your home. Then we’ll match your pup with walkers from your local team and get started.
Will my dog have the same walker every time?
We work hard to keep familiar faces on every visit, so your pup gets to know our team and we get to know their routine. Our walkers are people too, so when someone is sick or on vacation, another member of your local team steps in. That’s how walks still happen, no matter what.
How much does dog walking cost?
Walks start at $24, and rates vary a little by neighborhood, time of day and walk length. See rates for your neighborhood.
Are your walkers employees?
Yes. Every walker and sitter at every Out-U-Go! is an employee, never an independent contractor. They’re background checked, bonded and insured, and trained through Dog Walk University, our own program.
Can you care for my pets while I travel?
Yes. We offer dog sitting, cat sitting and overnight house sitting. Availability varies by neighborhood, and many of our teams offer vacation care mainly to pet parents who already walk with us, because a team that knows your pets is the key to stress-free trips. If you have a trip coming up, reach out a few weeks ahead.
Do you take dogs to dog parks?
No. For safety, our walkers never take dogs to dog parks, dog beaches or off-leash areas. We stick to neighborhood walks with plenty of time for sniffs.
